Aaytha Ezhuthu(The Three dots in political arena)

Of late, the situation has become so interesting with the shout for special status gaining momentum creating itself necessary space in the political arena and it did make sure it is heard of including the ruling government. It could be clearly seen in its prep up activities to suppress the momentum. The need for special status is an altogether different topic to discuss, let's keep it in the parking lot and focus on where are we heading towards here after. The three dots mentioned in the heading are nothing but the ruling party, its allies and the opposition.Albeit, the topic of special status has been floating around for last two years, due to the efforts of the opposition which should be a pat on the back.It did fail to create the impact. It could be because of the monotonous agitations, failure in collaborating with the enemies enemies and lastly it did not arise out of people then.Let's register this. The ruling party was in fact successful in containing it under the lid in one way for two years. In fact, it had risen from waters from floating only after drawing inspiration from successful fight started by people of  neighboring state on a different issue where social network played crucial role in this age of networking and the stage was set with Republic day back drop. What followed after was a game of moves between the three dots. The opposition led by Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy  was able to show case its credibility and commitment to the issue, which they had to in any way to stay alive in the game.On the other hand,it did seem to have made the Chief Minister Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu a lot worried. He wouldn't have imagined the mess he is in right now when he took office in 2014.He did allow weeds to grow under his feet. I would speak more of an imaginary dot here when he comes into active politics.Special status had now become or going to play major role in 2019 elections. The plot is simple. The ruling party could not support the special status because of known reasons visible to a common observer and the opposition stress for it.Both are heading forward with 2019 May in mind.

From Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy standpoint,he stays in public which is characteristic of his leadership style which had helped so far in getting the mass image which other politicians could only dream of.The game plan should include collaboration with everyone, staying close to national and local media  which he rarely does, create strong party cadre at grass root level which it looks like he did not realize yet, just keep fighting on people's problems as he usually does and market it well.Intact vote bank is a plus including minorities.Take care of that swinging vote bank,Power would come.

From Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu stand point, what's ahead is more important than what happened so far in these three years. There could be myriad issues bothering, but to stay alive in the game,he needs to quickly assess the situation. There is a notion among the crowd that election promises had not been fulfilled and he could not and will not support special status which is seen in his statements.Suppressing opposition would not help except strong counters to their allegations.Chances of in house rifts cannot be neglected though. What is left? Development. That's what he was known for a years ago.Do it,show it,power could stay.Time to burn the bridges.Supportive and well managed media is a plus. After all, people's memory is very short.

The mortal mind says, special status would just end up being an opposition party trump card, ruling party's consciously ignored card, social media warriors forgotten card, people's most wanted card.
